READING UNIT 5 Content Knowledge: What does it mean to be responsible? Students will focus their knowledge weekly based on the concept of being responsible. How can we help others with problems, provide care for others, communicate, and understand that we must follow the rules.
MATH CHAPTER 8 AND 9 CHAPTER 8 CRITICAL AREA: USING STANDARD UNITS OF MEASURE ESSENTIAL QUESTION: WHAT ARE SOME OF THE METHODS AND TOOLS THAT CAN BE USED TO ESTIMATE AND MEASURE LENGTH? CHAPTER 9 CRITICAL AREA: USING STANDARD UNITS OF MEASURE ESSENTIAL QUESTION: WHAT ARE SOME OF THE METHODS AND TOOLS THAT CAN BE USED TO ESTIMATE AND MEASURE LENGTH IN METRIC UNITS?
SOCIAL STUDIES UNIT 4 EQ: WHAT IS THE GOVERNMENT AND WHY DO PEOPLE NEED LAWS? The United States is founded on the principles of democracy, and these principles are reflected in all types of communities. PRINCIPLES OF DEMOCRACY: Students will focus on how the United States was founded on Democratic Principles (Dignity for all, equality, fairness, respect for authority and rules.) Students will focus on how the Government protects the rights of citizens, promotes fairness, and keeps people.
By the end of this unit, children will be able to represent and solve problems involving multiplication. They will understand the properties of multiplications and relationships between multiplication and division.
Children will write informative/explanatory text to examine a topic to convey ideas and information clearly. They will develop the topic with facts, definitions, and details using linking words and phrases. Writing will provide a concluding statement or section.
By the end of this unit, students will compare and contrast, visualize, monitor and clarify, and identify author's purpose to develop their reading comprehension skills.
