Pre-K, K and 1st Grade, Mr. Balvin

II was born in Colombia but immigrated to the United States at an early age. New York City has been my home and I have had the pleasure of living in Brooklyn and now Queens. I am a proud graduate of the New York City Public School System, a graduate of St. John’s University, and masters from Brooklyn College. Before working at P.S. 120, I taught and supervised at a medical assistant school in Brooklyn and was also a youth soccer coach. I love being physically active and on my spare time I participate in kickboxing classes and play pick up soccer. My goal is to introduce the students at P.S. 120 to as many games and activities so they may also be lifelong movers!

4th & 5th Grade, Ms. Day

I am originally from Queens where I attended elementary and middle school in the NYC public school system. I have now come full circle to be teaching in the same educational establishment that I was taught in. I started my teaching career in a middle school teaching Physical Education in district 24. Then I transferred to PS 120 in 2015. I am a proud graduate of Queens College, where I received a Bachelors degree in Physical Education. I then later attended Adelphi University and received two Masters' degrees in Sports Management and Health Education. Fitness is extremely important in both teaching and my personal life. In fact I am a fitness instructor and teach at various different fitness clubs. I currently live in Long Island with my husband and three children. When I am not working out, I enjoy spending time with my family and visiting the beach as much as I can.
