P.S. 120Q

Mind - Body - Heart

Student Lateness

Posted Date: 03/27/26 (07:52 AM)

Good morning, P.S. 120 families,

We continue to see a number of students arriving after the school day has begun, and it is having a real impact.

Teachers consistently share that when students arrive late, they miss important morning instruction and routines that set the tone for the day. Instead of starting calmly and with focus, they are coming in rushed and not always in the right headspace to learn. This makes it harder for them to settle in, pay attention, and fully engage in their lessons.

Being on time each day is also about building habits. It teaches responsibility, consistency, and the importance of routines that support success in school and beyond.

We ask for your support in prioritizing punctuality. A strong start to the day makes a huge difference.

Thank you for your continued partnership.

Have a great day,

R. Marino
